Sandbach Photographic Society was founded in 1979.
The object of the Society is to promote interest in all aspects of still photography by means of regular meetings, devoted to photographic topics designed to provide instruction and recreation, and by other such means as appropriate.
The Society is open to people of all ages and ability and especially welcomes new members who are keen to learn more about photography in all its forms.
The Society is affiliated to The Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU)
A programme of high quality indoor meetings are held on Wednesdays (except the first Wednesday of each month) from September to April. The programme includes presentations, practical sessions, print and slide portfolios and competitions within the Society and with other local Societies. Speakers are carefully selected for their content and quality to provide as wide a range of topics as possible and give members a good exposure to other photographer’s work to help improve our own skills. Field events to local venues provide further practical and social activities. We also hold social events throughout the year.
This year we are introducing informal and interactive workshops on some first Mondays of the month (see programme). These will initially address digital photography topics but are open to other areas of photographic interest.
All meetings are held at Sandbach Library, except the workshops, and start at 7.45 pm prompt.
The annual subscription rates are:
There is an additional charge of £1 per meeting for members and £2 per meeting for guests which includes the cost of coffee/tea and biscuits.
